Good news for the industry, bad news for bargain car hunters like us. Minimum car age has been extended to include cars built before February 2000 as well.

Bloody hell. It's getting really hard in my neck of the woods to find non-dross usable motors for £500 and under and this is going to make it worse. I understand the environmental concerns but it's a bit of a London-centric view that everyone north of Watford and south of Westminster has enough money to pay for a brand new car, whilst those that dont are encouraged to use the not very cost-effective, not always on time, sit next to a complete stranger nightmare of public transport...

FEB 2000!
That's ridiculous, that's a new car in my opinion.
This obscene scheme encourages a throwaway society, encourages borrowing (remember how the recession started - reckless borrowing) and subsidises overseas car industries, with my tax money! We need another guy Fawkes!
