Hi!

Im lewis, aged 20, studying for a degree in journalism and i drive a beast of a car...

A 1986 VW Jetta GT.

I absolutely love it.

Its done 185,000 and i paid £140 for it with 10months MOT and 2 months tax.

Being the GT it has the same engine as the mk2 golf GTI's of the era (1800 8v, 4cyl K-jet. 5sp Manual) and despite the mileage goes SO well. Ive done 7000 miles in it since easter and all its needed is petrol and a wheel bearing.

The bodywork, well has lots of dents, quite a bit of filler and the wrong colour bonnet, but since I learnt to drive 3 years ago VW/German engineering is definately the way forwards.

Will endeavour to get some pictures up ASAP Smile

Top marks for running your banger.
80's stuff onwards is great, I've been driving it for 20 years, only just gone modern(ish).... if you call 2000 modern, hell it'll be eligable for scrappage soon!
Last shed was a 325i from 1988 and until last week was the newest car I ever owned.
Long may your Jetta keep working (which it will)
