Had this for over a month now and haven't had a single sniff. I thought Polo's were easy to sell, even the saloons. It's a 2000 X-reg 1.4S, 59k and a good history. Colour, perhaps?

And it's nothing to do with the credit crunch. A friend of mine is easily selling around three 4k-10 cars a week, and a friend of his sold 10 diesels the week before, all over 5k.

Hello Kev, my first thought was colour before I read your comment, but personally I would not give a stuff about colour if I was buying a nice car like that at such a decent price. This is the ideal first car, shopping car, it's a mystery to me really and so much better than a knackered Fiesta.

Actually, it's been on sale since last October, but I've only fortecourted it a month ago. Not so much as a phone call. If only people could make the quantum leap away from the colour they would have a lovely car to own. I guess if it was silver it'd be gone by now.

But yes, James, the Polo is a very civilsed car indeed and deserves its reputation.

Nothing is wrong with the colour it is a cheap and reliable car, but some buyers are very hard to please it seems...J

Its too dear. a used car is only worth what someone will pay and there are miliions to choose from. I reckon 1000-1100 is more realistic

Yes, it did sell in the end. I advertised it in a shop window for 100 more and it sold for 1595! As for the value being 1100, it would fetch more than that as a p/ex according to Glass's.

Glad to hear it Kev, that was a fine little car, I'm going to a fairly local auction next Friday for a look, it is an evening one so not looking at quality, just what's there, if I get tempted into anything I will let you know...J

Yeah, going to an auction just to see what's going through is good fun, and it's always best to leave your money at home! I saw a 1995 Ford Probe V6 go through with 85k and 10 months MoT, but faded red paintwork, and it sold for a 150! It would be worth keeping it for that money. I wish I'd bought it now.
