PostSubject: Fuel tank pressure   Tue Oct 27, 2015 4:38 pm

I've noticed my car gasps every time I remove the filler cap to add fuel (It might just be surprised I'm spending money on it). At first I thought it was a vacuum accumulating in the tank (blocked breather pipe?), but today I noticed it was blowing, not sucking.

Ideas?

Could still be blocked breather and vapour pressure, in which case it MIGHT be more noticeable in hot weather, which I suppose you ain't got at the moment.

Yeah, could (must?) be a blocked breather. Not sure what's creating the pressure though. The weather isn't hot. Poor insulation from exhaust heat maybe?
