114, 449 miles. Usualy passes her MOT with minor work needed (bulbs, airfreshner removal lol) handles lovely, has an annoying squeak which I cant trace, but seems to be suspension related.

Biggest problem is rust bugs on the bottom of both doors, and lifting laquer on just about all major body panels, caused I suspect by a helpful OH removing snow with a shovel and bird poop from a nest of starlings under neighbours roof.

Anyone got any idea how much a relaquer might cost if we do most of the prep work?

First of all welcome to the forum Welcome

Regarding the lacquer why not try it yourself?

I couldn't paint when I first tried but you soon pick things up :Wky:

If its just the lacquer just sand the old lacquer down to the base color and feather the edges using the finest grade of paper you can get away with then buy a generic can of clear and lacquer further than the damaged area then let than just carry one using the car but don't polish the area for a month or so then when its cured flat the doors down with 1500-2000 grade W&D then use a compound to bring back the shine:Winky:

Far cheaper than getting a body shop to do it and gives you a real sense of achievement doing it yourself Thumb

If you can post some pics up we can let you know if its a diy possibility Thumb

Why not post some pics up anyway we would love to see your car Wub

Please post them in the "Your Cars" section Thanks

Why?? 'cos i'm a bit of a perfectionist...:Cr:

It's bad enough driving round in it at the moment, coming from a background of custom cars with my ex, but if I screwed it up, I'd struggle to forgive myself.
