Sunflower oil, rapidly becoming my all-purpose protectant.

As well as (probably) protecting the rubber from deterioration (see related tyre treatment post) the oil creeps into any gaps, where the seal has separated from the window arpeture/glass, and slowly polymerises, reducing or stopping leaks.

Best done when the area is dry, perhaps after a few hot sunny days, which is probably less likely to happen in the UK. If you get any on the glass clean it off sharpish, because it goes sticky quite quickly.
