PostSubject: Oil pressure anything to worry about???   Mon Feb 04, 2013 9:42 am

Ive noticed of late my oil pressure gauge on my 190d is taking longer to rise Rolling Eyes

That said withing a minute or so its on full Wink

It used to rise to full in seconds.

There again this has only seemed to start happening since this cold spell and if I am honest at around the same time my pressure gauge rises so does my fuel indicator,it almost seems like the gauges are slow to fire up when cold

should I be worried about my oil pressure or is it just the cold or even the gauges?

Thoughts???

Indeed it could be down to the cold, i.e thicker oil taking longer to get to the sensor/guage.

However these guages are known to read max when they aren't functioning properly, I read somewhere. That doesn't mean you have a pressure problem! Just a slightly optimistic guage.

Most likely the cold weather, its when you get no oil pressure you should worry!

Check the level and condition of the oil.

Has it got the right grade?

When was the last time it had an oil and filter change? Wink
