Bought this in mid December for a shade under 1000. I had been watching it for about 6 months. Originally up at 1995, then 1695, then 1295 and then 995. I got it for 950 with 6 months tax, 11 months MOT.

All I've done is to do an oil change and drive it. It's only really doing local trips, and averaging about 31mpg from the (HEALTHY!) 1.8 litre K series engine. But very comfortable, and the ride quality is sublime!

Headgasket replaced with the MLS item, as well as an uprated waterpump and new cambelt at 75,000 by the previous owner. Smile It's now on 85,000ish.

Top bangers these 75's. I love my own diesel tourer!

They are now often available at ridiculously low prices, and there are plenty that have been very well looked after by private owners.

In my experience, they are relatively straightforward to maintain, parts are in plentiful supply at scrap yards and there is a great amount of info on the cars common problems available on the web too Smile

Wishing you many comfortable, reliable miles in your 75!

Love these. In my shortlist when the merc passes away. Will have to the estate though. What's servicing costs etc like, with two kids taking up my time and little ability I tend to get most work done by my mechanic.

Would have to be black leather and cream piping seats. Piping, its all about piping!

Servicing really depends on which engine you've got. Mine's the lowly 1.8 K Series Rover engine. I serviced it myself when I bought the car, and while Halfords had an excellent deal on oil!

The lot came to a shade over 70. This included: Oil, Oil Filter, 4x Spark Plugs, Air Filter, Cabin Filter and two HT leads as the looked a little ropey - although seemed to be performing alright. Best to change before they give in though! I fitted it all and changed the oil myself. I'm not sure what it would have come to at a garage. 150 or so, I'd have thought.
