I'll bet it could achieve 30+ mpg on an easy commute. My C-Class averages 32 mpg on a six mile cross country commute which is full of hills. If I work from our other site which is 18 miles away and an easy run I get 40+ mpg. Hell, even the 4.0 Jeep I've got manages 18 mpg on the short commute!! When I stick it on LPG that will be equivalent to 30+ mpg.

I think some underestimate the effect of having a big lazy engine sometimes Rolling Eyes

Sometimes a well thought out design six cylinder can be more economical than a 4 cylinder as the four banger is having to do more work to haul the same weight as the bigger engine does.

Some of these old Benz engines are remarkably economical for their capacity but if your really tightfisted with fuel costs opt for a Mercedes Derv motor Thumb

I spose, I think I just see big engine and think big costs. Just got a true mpg app for my phone which I'm using to track my c200 estate. Should be interesting.
