I like these 323's, they must be reliable- maybe a bit dearer to run because not as popular as nissans - fords etc.

I looked at one the other day too, but the seller described it as belonging to his auntie, but it was the 2L V6 with a sound system that would do Wembley proud. It still seemed to be a good deal untill I did an insurance quote. Gulp!

The insurance would have been 150 more than the car itself at 750 for LFT. Mazda's insurance groups seem to be a bit high for the power output of the actual car compared to most other makes. Look at the ins groups for the Mazda Xedos for example.

Yes the Xedos is like a small Lexus, before there was such a thing and they are incredibly rare, hence the sky high insurance...323s though don't break down so there is a trade off. J

I'm liking this, and it's reasonably local, too. See what happens.

Decided not to go for it. The seller said he wasn't a Trader even though he had 2 cars for sale and sold another recently. And he wants a deposit by credit card, how many private sellers take credit cards? I don't mind if he is a Trader but if he can't be honest then I don't want to deal with him.

I agree totally on that, I always want to know who I'm dealing with and saying you are private to dodge responsibility is the lowest of the low really. A good lesson too because if can't trust the seller how can you ever trust the car. - J
