I'm assuming that driving a car for all of it's usable life is more environmentally friendly than buying a new one, but does anyone have any figures to back it up which I can share with my Prius owning friends (if I can get them to stop the thing?)

I guess an awful lot of Co2 is released in making a car in the first place? Does manufacturer recycling produce more? I guess it does, unless it consists of just re-using the parts without reforming them!

Any figures though?

I do have figures put together by our Bangernomic hero Charles Ware about running a Morris Minor forever, will upload when I find them!
